Heritage Stage Venues

Heritage Stage Shows are available in the following venues:

Planters Barn Theater

Our home theater and base of operations, The Planters Barn
Theater, hosts the summer production of Mark Twain Himself
from May to August.  It also hosts the Christmas production of
A Shepherd's Tale in December. We also book Group Shows,
School Field Trip Shows, and Convention/Business Shows in
the theater any time as scheduling permits.  The Planters Barn
Theater is itself a tourist attraction.   It was built in 1849 by Sam
Bowen, a friend of Sam Clemens.  Sam Clemens also known
as Mark Twain was in the building many times visiting his
friends as was attorney Abraham Lincoln when he visited
Hannibal.

Planters Barn Theater is located at 319 North Main Street
in the historic district of Hannibal, Missouri.  On Dead Man's Alley
just a stone's throw from the Mark Twain Boyhood Home, the
theater sits just behind the Becky Thatcher House and the
Haunted House on Hill Street.

Convention and Business Meetings

Heritage Stage offers specific programs and services for
Conventions and Business Meetings.  Mark Twain can welcome
your guests to the Convention.  Mark Twain Himself can be
photographed with your guests for a memorable convention
keepsake.  We can provide a highly entertaining stage show for
Banquets and afternoon or evening Entertainment.  We have a
show for Business Programs called Mark Twain on Business.
All in the words of Mark Twain, this show is both entertaining and
informative.  Religious groups often use the shows The Gospel
According to Mark and A Shepherd's Tale to complete their
programming needs.  Actor Richard Garey also has a wonderful
seminar called "WORK AS THEATER."  Mr. Garey explores the
many parallels between preparing for a stage role and preparing
for your role in the business world.

Fundraisers

Our shows are available for non-profit organizations, schools,
churches, and clubs to raise funds in a very entertaining and
enjoyable way.  Ask about our Black Tie Gala  Events.

Organizations have charged from $20 to $100 for tickets and
raise thousands of dollars in one fun evening.  A great way to
raise funds!

Educational Shows

Our School Shows make history and literature come alive in a
very entertaining way.  Through the magic of the stage, students

through a very unique encounter.  Historically accurate and in the
words of the characters, these shows are a wonderful learning
and cultural experience for your students.
